Workshops series sponsored by the Office of Research
Ethics reside at the core of the research process, motivating inquiry, guiding practice, and promoting an ethos of accountability and equity. Organized by Professor Chris ChoGlueck, this series in Research Ethics aims to support and improve knowledge about ethics and create a culture of integrity, inclusion, and equity. We offer regular workshops that foster awareness and discussion and build a network of support among researchers. All are invited to participate in these conversations about ethics & integrity in our research communities at NMT.
Upcoming Workshops in Spring 2024:
Implict Bias in STEM
This interactive workshop provides training on how to identify, manage, and reduce biases in professional settings. Facilitated by Dr. Isabel Morris (Civil & Env. Engineering) and Dr. Chris ChoGlueck (Ethics) for the Research Ethics @NMT series, it provides background on implicit bias and its impacts on the STEM workforce.
We will have several activities on writing letters of recommendation, evaluating job postings, and creating rubrics for hiring decisions. This event is free and open to all members of the broader NMT community. Light snacks will be provided, so please register below.
